What we’ve done in Themed Events

Staff Event, July 2015

This event saw us build a Vintage Funfair room, in secret, while the client's staff were attending a conference in the room next door.

We loved working with Sophia and all the team on the client side on this one. The fact that those at the conference didn't know the Vintage Funfair was happening made it even more fun.

We worked to the budget set by the client and produced a great event that got SUPER feedback.

What we did

This event was a lot of fun. The staff didn't know the Vintage Funfair was happening so the build had to take place while they were all in the room next door attending a conference.

Once the conference was finished, the room was opened up and they got to enjoy the fun we'd laid on.

  • Event Production
    • Sourcing & coordination of suppliers
    • Negotiation on costs
    • Coordination of event build
    • Multiple site visits
  • Event Dressing
    • Sourcing of key backdrop
    • Sourcing of multiple small touches
    • Coordination of all elements, on theme

The general gist of it

  • 1 popcorn machine
  • a lot of sneaking around
  • 1 candy floss machine
  • 1 themed server
  • 1 beautiful backdrop
  • loads of pretty balloon arches
  • many gilded birdcages (don't ask!)
  • loads of custom design elements

Why we loved this one

The challenge of this one was the reason we loved it too.

The Vintage Funfair was a surprise for all the staff at the conference and we loved that.

Elaine got to see their faces when they came into the room and she said it was an amazing feeling.

Some of the challenges

We'd to brief everyone that the Vintage Funfair was a surprise and, as such, we'd to do the build in secret.

It's not a set of circumstances most suppliers would be familiar with and it meant the build needed strong management. Luckily Elaine was there to do just that and it all came together beautifully.
