Event Management

Event Management suits certain people. We’re not going to pretend we understand why, but it does. We know it suits us and we know we’re good at it. Believe us, there are plenty of things we’re NO good at, but if it’s event-related then we’re all over it.

What we do

Event Management can involve a lot of things. What's involved can vary from event to event and tends to depend on the event type, size, location and history among other things.

We look at every event individually on its own merits.

That said, there are some common services & products we provide for our clients.

We can offer you the following:

We can offer you pretty much anything event-related. Just ask.

How we do it

We apply the same experience and skills to a charity pub quiz as we do to a big summer festival or a corporate event. That may sound a bit odd but that’s how we work.

We can hand-on-heart tell you that we use the same skills for the Paddy’s Day Parade in Swords every year as we did at the London Olympics in 2012

Our confidence

We stand behind our Event Management service 100%. We develop our business largely on referrals from current clients and that’s how we like to do it.

We go all out to make our clients and our clients’ customers happy and we believe that’s the key to us staying in business and continuing to do what we love to do – making great events happen.

We can help make your event a success. Call us.

what we've done in Event Management

'Martin, Sinead and the team are incredibly efficient, professional and friendly and are amazingly good humoured given the long hours they work.'

Ernie Brenner, Malahide Chamber of Commerce

Fiestaval was an amazing event to be part of. Run & organised by a number of food & restaurant businesses local to Temple Bar, it was a great 2 days of family fun and good food.

'Cuckoo pulled out all the stoppers again and we were impressed more than ever with the amazing job you guys did.'

Áine Crotty - Chairperson of CASSD Committee

This was us doing something to give back to the industry we love so much and we very much enjoyed doing it. Talking to students and people looking to get into the industry gave us hope for the future.

'The event was a great success, in no small part thanks to the Cuckoo Team and particularly Elaine. The continuous communication in the run up to the event was invaluable and Cuckoo were always on hand to help with any last minute queries or requests.'

Tara Regan, Programme Manager, National Dairy Council

'Working with the Cuckoo crew is a pleasure, privilege and a masterclass of fine work and not only we plan to do much more with them but we highly recommend Mark and Mags and all their team for any size event you plan.'

Francois Colussi, Pure Magic Events

The Christmas Under the Clock activity on O'Connell Street in the run up to Christmas 2015 was absolutely magical and we are delighted to have been part of it. From the aerial performances to the puppet shows, everything worked as planned and was enjoyed as we'd all hoped.

'Over the course of the event we benefited from Cuckoo’s professional perspective and will be implementing more improvements in 2016 based on their recommendations. Engaging Cuckoo Events was excellent value for the input they made to improving Cork Science Festival both in 2015 and into its second decade. I have no hesitation in recommending Cuckoo Events, and I hope to work with them again.'

Marcela Whelan-Kelly, Coordinator, Cork Science Festival

'Our relationship with Mags Connelly and Cuckoo Events has benefited the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon and Race Series by producing Event Management Plans to the highest standards. The work was above and beyond what we could have expected in a short time frame.'

Jim Aughney, Race Director, SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon

This was one of the most intimate and amazing gigs we've worked on. A Kodaline concert for around 200 fans in a beautiful old castle that was quite challenging to make happen but so worth it in the end.

The Mother Block Party event has been getting bigger every year and this year it moved to an outdoor venue with a capacity of 3,000 people. It was a great gig.

'It was obvious from the outset that Cuckoo were engaged and understood the subtleties and special nature of our event, while coping with the large numbers it attracts. They were always willing and able to listen and take our needs on board, and were proactive and flexible in their approach.'

Jason Flynn, Chairperson, Dublin LGBTQ Pride Ltd.

'Cuckoo Events’ experience, professionalism and commitment to ensuring a vibrant and safe event were vital to our festival's success.'

Ernie Brenner, 'Malahide Has It' Festival

'This is the 2nd year we've had the Team from Cuckoo in looking after the Transport Management for Flavours. Not only did we have ZERO complaints about any traffic delays, we actually had some local residents go out of their way to let us know that they had no issues.'

Paul Barnes, Fingal County Council Events

"Elaine was a pleasure to deal with from the initial planning stages and most helpful in suggesting ideas for us and working within our budget.

The team on the day delivered a superb seamless service."

Gillian Duffy, District Society Manager and Events Manager

'Cuckoo Events came highly recommended and we found their advice, many years of experience and help invaluable prior to and during the weekend of the Festival.'

Mary T Daly, Louth County Council

The Darkness Into Light events are truly special. The atmosphere at them is something we don't experience at any other events. We were delighted to be asked to help the committee run the one in Malahide Castle.

This was our latest activation in Wolfe Tone Square. An element of the Polska-Éire Festival, which took place all around the country, it was a two-day free family fun event. It went ver ywell despite the weather's attempts to scupper it on the first day.

"Cuckoo were excellent right from the start. They provided event management expertise and have been very professional throughout, giving clear advice and guidance on all aspects of planning."

Tomaí Ó Conghaile, Project Lead

'We found Mags' experience and knowledge invaluable in helping us through this year's Dublin Bay Prawn Festival. It added greatly to the professionalism of the event and I can highly recommend her work and Cuckoo Events for safety / operations management of any large leisure event.'

Aoife Healy Chair, Visit Howth Peninsula Ltd and Dublin Bay Prawn Festival.

"The Cuckoo Team worked with us on Love Sensation gig and, as usual, they got the job done. Everything from queueing to cloak room, from crowd flow to medical cover, they were on top of, like they always are. They make running events in there so much easier."

Paul McGlade Jnr, Owner, Pygmalion

"The Ball was fantastic. Everyone was genuinely impressed. It couldn’t have gone / looked better than the way it did! The compliments were flowing in and all the rest of the committee were delighted with Elaine and her approach and helpfulness and behind the scenes work."

Sean P O'Sullivan, CASSD

"We required an event management company who were versatile, willing to try something new and had a very strong emphasis on organisation and safety. I'd happily recommend Cuckoo. They help make it all happen, while ensuring everything is done the right way."

Mark Jacobs, Co-Founder & CFO, Youth Nation

"We had a great time - thanks so much. And thank you for the picture frame at the end of the day. Everyone (children and adults), let me know how much fun they had and how delicious the food was."

Jennie King, Office Manager, Etsy

''The team in Cuckoo managed our Summer in Dublin activity over 5 weekends in the city centre. There was an additional benefit of social media interaction facilitated by Cuckoo posting pictures live from the events. We look forward to working with them on similar activity again in the future."

Clyde Carroll, Director of Marketing & Communications, DublinTown

"We decided to work with Cuckoo on this event because their proposal best matched our objectives. The event was a great success and was well managed."

Clyde Carroll, Director of Marketing & Communications, DublinTown

"Cuckoo were always on hand with advice and dealt with everything in a calm manner - no problem could phase these guys! Most importantly the guys at Cuckoo are an absolute pleasure to deal with. I would have no hesitation recommending them!"

Kate O'Reilly, National Campaigns Officer

"Thank you so much for all your hard work & support. You made things really straightforward."

Zoe Kavanagh, CEO, National Dairy Council

"Time and time again the Cuckoo Events team prove their value for us down in UL, and it's easy to justify the additional spend for the added value they bring to the table."

"This year Bray Air Display worked with Cuckoo Events. Their input and professionalism ensured the success of the event."

This was the first time this audience interaction aerial show has been in Ireland. We were delighted to be providing Event Controller and Safety Officer for the run of sold out shows in Limerick.

'The whole team went above and beyond what we asked and we would highly recommend them and look forward to working with them again.'

Mick Glynn, Festival Director, Bray Summerfest

The Darkness Into Light events are truly special. The atmosphere at them is something we don't experience at any other events. We were delighted to be asked to help the committee run the one in Malahide Castle.

To kick off its 20th Anniversary Tour, Riverdance did a run of shows in the University of Limerick. We Event Controlled it and enjoyed every single minute of it.

'Cuckoo worked with us on our Brian Boru events and we were glad to have them. Their presence helped ensure all went off without a hitch.'

Paul Barnes, Fingal County Council Events

"I received great feedback from the statutory bodies afterwards regarding the Cuckoo team and their professionalism. I continue to have the utmost confidence in Cuckoo Events to deliver a competent team and a calm team leader!"

Margaret Connelly, Event Controller, Flavours of Fingal

We worked with Trish and the committee to make sure the 'Malahide Has It' Festival was a success. We were tasked with sourcing professional suppliers and saving the committee money. Job done.

We turned this around for us at very short notice to the delight of the client. As a result we're now doing more work for them.

"We would highly recommend Cuckoo and look forward to working with them again - we'll miss them!"

"The team at Cuckoo Events were invaluable to us in running ECC 2013 in Dublin. With over 1200 people to move and look after on a daily basis, I really don't think we could have gotten better event organisers than Cuckoo. They came very well recommended and we genuinely could not have run the event without them."

Gary Foran, ECC Dublin 2013

"Cuckoo were great to deal with and Martin and Marian were invaluable on the night of the gig."

Ryan Barrett, Abstract Agency

The Ploughing Championships is an enormous event. With over 200,000 people visiting over the course of the week, getting the opportunity to work with one of the biggest exhibitors there, The National Dairy Council, was great for us!

"I would like to thank all the guys in Cuckoo Events for helping to ensure that our first ever Colour Splash Walk / Run was a huge success. Martin, Mark & Marian. . . ensured that on the day over 400 children had a great day."

John Ennis, General Manager, Grafton Lounge
