Love Parade Crowd Manager Finally Speaks Out

The Love Parade disaster in 2010 resulted in 21 people dying and hundreds more being injured. It is something that has been the subject of debate the world over since and recently saw a decision in Germany that the organisers would not be prosecuted criminally. On foot of that decision, Carsten Walter, the crowd manager on the day, has recently spoken to Spiegel magazine.

You can read the interview here.

I've resisted the urge to comment on the disaster but wanted to do what I could to distribute the interview so that event professionals and the public alike can get an insight into what happened that day from someone who was there and was in a position of responsibility.

The image below is also included with the Spiegel article.

Hi there! We don't really operate as Cuckoo Events any longer.

The majority of our work now is done as Safe Events. This website is still live as there are a LOT of resources on here - particularly in our Blog section - that people still access very regularly. If that's why you're here, carry on!
