The annual Event Industry Awards were held last night and I'm delighted to have won Safety Officer of the Year. Martin in here and Mags with whom we do a lot of work were finalists in the same category too.
This mother and her 4 month old child were asked to leave the mosh pit at a gig in the States. She didn't seem to understand why being in there might be endangering her baby.
I'm Hollie. I’ve just finished up my 1st year doing Event Management in DIT and I’ve also just recently finished a little 4 day internship at Groove Festival. While I love my course there’s only so much you can learn from listening to lecturers all day. I’ve done well over 200 hours of work experience at events as part of my course but being part of the pre-production of an event as well as being there for the event itself is a whole different experience.
I get asked this an awful lot. There are a lot of Event Management course available in Ireland and farther afield now, but are they worthwhile? Are they teaching you the right things? Will they help you get your dream job in events?
